My submission for *sanguisGelidus's contest Creatures of the Enchanted Forest.
Light Harts are small deer-like spirits. Elusive but benevolent, they guide lost travellers through dark forests on clouded nights or those of a waning moon. As the moon wanes, they become clearer to the eye, and diminish at is waxes. This specimen was sketched as the moon was on the wane.
It is said that a Light Hart's fire will burn other spirits and can be used to purge dangerous specters from their earthly vessels. The flame catches best on silk that has been blessed, woven under the new moon or soaked in holy water.

A neat design, always nice to see benevolent spirits kicking around, their asshole siblings seem to be all anybody talks about these days
